Volunter Council of the Arkadelphia Human Development Center
The Volunteer Council of the Arkadelphia Human Development Center is a nonprofit 501) c (3) organization, dedicated to supporting and improving the quality of life for persons with disabilities. The Council is comprised of community representatives and consumers. The organization was incorporated in 1980, specifically to raise funds for a therapeutic pool complex, in order to provide water therapy for developmentally disabled individuals in Clark County. The Volunteer Council provides funding to persons with disabilities who have special financial needs and conducts educational programs for community awareness regarding persons with developmental disabilities. In general, the Council considers and undertakes projects that are not funded by the State, including recreational, educational, vocational and therapeutic programs to benefit persons with developmental disabilities.
