The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program offers free, high-quality tax help to low-income families. The United Way of Northwest Arkansas leads the coordination of free tax services in Northwest Arkansas, including VITA and Tax Counseling for the Elderly (TCE) programs. As a member of this AmeriCorps team, you can join the effort by educating the community about these programs, recruiting like-minded volunteers, and becoming certified to file tax returns for low-income families in your community.
As an AmeriCorps Member, you join the more than 80,000 Americans of all ages engaging in a year of meaningful service. Joining this AmeriCorps team will challenge you to take the path less traveled, to break the status quo, and to be part of the solution.
Multiple Service Terms Available
Locations: Benton County (Rogers & Siloam Springs); Washington County (Fayetteville & Springdale); Carroll and Madison
Term of Service: October 1, 2020 – May 30, 2021.
27 Hours of Service per Week
Living Allowance $6,475.00 for the Full Term, paid monthly
Education Award $3,097.50
Term of Service: October 1, 2020 – July 30, 2021.
29 Hours of Service per Week
Living Allowance $8,325.00 for the Full Term, paid monthly
Education Award $4,336.50
1700 Hour Service Position
Term of Service: September 11, 2020 – July 30, 2021.
38 Hours of Service per Week
Eligible for Health Insurance and Child Care
Living Allowance $14,279.00 for the Full Term, paid monthly
Education Award $6,195.00
